Counseling

About

The Guidance and College Counseling Department partners with parents to help students achieve their personal and academic goals. Deeply rooted in the Holy Cross commitment to educate the whole person, our counselors work with students to plan their academic roadmap, navigate the path of high school and find the best college match.

Our counselors guide students in the development of their college plan, identifying their interests and matching them with the best colleges that meet their objectives. They help connect families with resources for the college process, college entrance exams as well as financial aid information. Our unique counseling model provides students with the support they need to succeed in a college preparatory environment. Students are assigned a freshman counselor who supports them with the academic, social and emotional transition to high school. In sophomore year, students transition to a guidance and college counselor, the person who will work with them for the next three years to provide academic and personal support as well as individualized college counseling.

Located in the Sobrato Family Learning Commons, the Guidance and College Counseling Department is open throughout the day, allowing students to drop in to see their counselor during collaboration, at lunch or after school.
